Where Organisations Think Carefully About Technology
Selasih Group works with technology and strategy leadership in Malaysia to establish small, well-considered innovation programmes — examined at a sensible pace, neither rushed nor neglected.
Three Ways to Engage
Each engagement is sized to where the organisation actually is — not to a model of where it ought to be.
Innovation Posture Conversation
A short engagement for organisations weighing whether to establish a small internal programme for considered experimentation — generative tooling, advanced analytics, edge computing. We listen, examine what has already been attempted, and write a measured posture note. Sometimes the right counsel is to continue informally for another season.
- Suited for technology and strategy leadership together
- Delivered as a written posture note
- No programme commitment required
Innovation Programme Advisory
A longer engagement for organisations setting up or revising a small innovation programme. We help design the intake of candidate experiments, the small budgetary discipline, the cadence of review, the criteria for graduation or retirement, and the relationship with existing engineering teams. The output is a written programme charter and a small set of operational practices the client may adopt at its own discretion.
- Written programme charter as deliverable
- Suited for a multi-year experimentation posture
- Operational practices at client's discretion
Experiment Review Workshop
A two-day workshop with the team responsible for a portfolio of experimental initiatives. Together we read each experiment's recent record, examine what has been learned, decide which to continue, which to graduate, and which to set aside with care. The workshop closes with a written portfolio review the client may circulate to its leadership.
- Suited for innovation managers and tech leadership
- Written portfolio review as output
- Two days, in-person or hybrid
What Distinguishes Our Advisory Work
We approach each organisation as a distinct workshop — patient with what it has already built, candid about what it has not yet tried.
Written Over Verbal
Every engagement concludes with a written output — posture note, programme charter or portfolio review. Nothing is left to memory or meeting minutes.
Honest About Readiness
We do not recommend a programme to every organisation we speak with. If the conditions are not yet present, we say so and suggest what might usefully precede the conversation.
Right-Sized Engagements
Our three engagement formats are sized to where the organisation actually stands — from a single conversation to a two-day working session with the full programme team.
Technology Fluency Without Hype
We are familiar with generative tooling, advanced analytics and edge computing without treating any of them as singular events. Each is a candidate technology deserving a fair experiment.
Respects Existing Teams
Our advisory work is designed to complement, not displace, the organisation's own engineering and technology teams. We arrive as a careful observer, not a replacement for internal capacity.
Malaysia-Rooted Practice
Based in Penang with an understanding of the organisational customs and decision-making cadences common to Malaysian technology and conglomerate structures.
Is a Conversation Worth Half an Hour?
We are not in the business of persuading organisations they need us. If you are weighing an innovation programme and would like a candid, unhurried exchange with someone who has read the landscape carefully — write to us.
Questions We Often Hear
What kinds of organisations do you typically work with?
We work with established organisations in Malaysia — typically those with a functioning technology team and leadership that has begun to ask whether they should be experimenting more deliberately with emerging tools. We are not suited to very early-stage startups, as the discipline of a formal programme is generally premature at that stage.
How long does a typical engagement take?
The Posture Conversation is usually completed within two to three weeks from first meeting to delivery of the written note. The Programme Advisory engagement typically runs six to ten weeks, depending on the organisation's own pace. The Experiment Review Workshop is two consecutive working days, with a short preparation exchange beforehand.
Do we need to have an existing programme to work with you?
Not at all. The Posture Conversation is specifically designed for organisations that have not yet decided whether to establish a programme. The Programme Advisory is for those beginning to build one. Only the Experiment Review Workshop assumes an existing portfolio of experiments in progress.
What technologies do your engagements cover?
Our advisory is technology-agnostic in the sense that we do not advocate for any particular vendor or platform. We are familiar with generative language tooling, advanced analytics systems, edge computing architectures and the organisational dynamics that accompany each. We examine which candidates deserve an experiment in the context of the organisation's own work — not in the abstract.
Are the outputs confidential?
Yes. Written outputs are the property of the client organisation and are treated as strictly confidential. We do not retain or reference client-specific material in subsequent engagements. Our standard engagement agreement sets out these terms in plain language before any work begins.
Do you work with organisations outside Penang?
We are based in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, but work with organisations across Peninsular Malaysia. The Posture Conversation can be conducted remotely or in person. The Programme Advisory typically involves at least one in-person visit. The Experiment Review Workshop is preferably conducted at the client's own premises, wherever that may be.
